Course overview

As part of the reforms to the Strata Titles Act, new legislation will require a qualified strata manager to have completed three units of competency.

The units of competency covered in this course will enable a currently qualified strata manager to meet the new legislation requirements under the Strata Titles (General) Regulations 2019.

Two consecutive days in the classroom (8.30am-4.30pm). You will have four months from the enrolment date to undertake study, research and complete your assessments.

Please note, a current sales or property management registration does not deem you to be considered qualified according to Schedule 4 of the Strata Titles (General) Regulations 2019.

All the Units of Competency prescribed in the Strata Titles (General) Regulations 2019 requires a high standard of English comprehension.

When working in strata management you will need to:

  • Keep up with current industry trends and industry legislation.
  • Be computer literate, and use technology appropriately.
  • Maintain industry currency by reading industry publications.
  • Read and respond to emails and letters when managing a strata scheme.
  • Write minutes.
  • Maintain regular verbal communication with strata stakeholders.

  • CPPDSM3017 Work in the strata community management sector
  • CPPCMN4008 Read plans, drawings and specifications for residential buildings
  • CPPDSM3020 Source and extract information from strata plans

To register for this course, it is preferable that you are a qualified strata manager.

To complete the course, you will need a computer and Internet service to get access to the course resources and assessments which are available on the REIWA student e-learning portal.

You will learn from experienced real estate and strata practitioners. 

Online component 

After participation in the classroom course, you will continue with self-paced learning. 

You will be provided with eLearning and assessment resources which will be supplemented by two optional webinar sessions. 

We use a variety of training tools to support your learning and to keep things interesting.

Full payment of course fee is required, before you can be enrolled into a class or gain access to course learning materials.  

RPL applicants - please contact REIWA Training to book a pre-enrolment interview prior to enrolling. 

Recognition of prior learning (RPL) is available to those with current experience working in strata. RPL is a form of assessment and will require you to: 
  • Provide workplace evidence of your current expertise.
  • Participate in a gap interview.
  • Provide a professional referee.

This course is held in our modern training centre with access to a full student support team as well as trainers and assessors. 

Phone and email support is available throughout the entire duration of your course. 

You will be given access to an online student resource portal, with resources that will help you in your studies.  

If you have any individual support needs please ensure that you include these on your enrolment form or contact us to discuss how we can support you.

We offer monthly assessment support sessions where you can work on your assessments with a trainer on hand to answer your questions and direct you through the course resources.

If after submitting your assessment you have not shown enough understanding or skill in particular areas, you will be provided with feedback to support your developing knowledge to a higher level and then asked to resubmit that part of the assessment.  

Once you have been deemed competent, you will be given a Statement of Attainment showing the Units of Competency achieved. 

Note: Upon successful completion a Statement of Attainment will be issued within 30 calendar days.
