Course overview

If you have previously completed a restricted sales registration (partial completion of CPP41419 Certificate IV in Real Estate Practice), this is the bridging course for you to have your restriction removed from your registration to be able to carry out property management transactions also.

If you are wanting to complete CPP51119 Diploma of Property (Agency Management) but only hold a partial completion of CPP41419 Certificate IV in Real Estate Practice or CPP40307 Certificate IV in Property Services (Real Estate) you will be required to complete a bridging course, prior to applying for a licence with the Department of Mines, Industry Regulation and Safety (DMIRS).

Completion of both this bridging course and CPP51119 Diploma of Property (Agency Management) will be required, prior to applying for a licence with DMIRS.

When working in real estate you will need to:
  • keep up with the latest industry trends and industry legislation.
  • be computer literate and use technology appropriately.
  • maintain industry currency by reading real estate bulletins and newsletters.
  • read and respond to your clients' emails and letters.
  • write reports to your clients.
  • maintain regular verbal communication with clients.
  • build rapport with existing and prospective clients.
  • communicate effectively with clients.
  • negotiate with clients on operational issues.

The following five Units of Competency: 
  1. CPPREP4121 Establish landlord relationships 
  2. CPPREP4122 Manage tenant relationships 
  3. CPPREP4123 Manage tenancy 
  4. CPPREP4124 End tenancy 
  5. CPPREP4125 Transact in trust accounts 

To enrol in this course you must:
  • be computer literate
  • have numeracy skills
  • have a high standard of verbal and written English (you will have to understand and complete legal contracts and other documentation) 
  • be a Western Australian (WA) resident with the authorisation to study in WA.

All the Units of Competency prescribed by DMIRS requires a high standard of English comprehension, the completion of legal documentation, and the use of computer systems.

You will have eight months from the enrolment date to undertake study, research and complete your assessments.   

The flexibility of our course structure means that you could be completed much sooner if you have the time to invest in your studies. 


2.5 days* in the classroom course attendance required on the below mentioned days in week 2 of the course: 

Week one: 
  • No classes 
Week two: 
  • Monday and Tuesday - 8.30am-4.30pm 
  • Wednesday 1pm-4pm
In class you will learn key concepts and be assisted to apply this knowledge through practical activities. You will also be given access to an eLearning portal containing digital resources (such as eLearning modules, student workbooks, model answers, sample documents and helpful links), to support you in completing your assessment.  

*You will have up to 8 months to complete your assessments.

You will also have access to trainers via phone, email, webinars and assessment support days.

This course is held in our modern training centre in Subiaco, with access to a full student support team, including trainers and assessors. For those who prefer to study online, our support team is available by phone and email to support you with your training.

All students are given access to an online resource portal, with examples of completed forms, student workbooks, eLearning modules and links to other online resources that will help you in your studies.  

We run regular webinar sessions to help you connect with trainers and other students to focus on specific aspects of the training course and guide you through the assessments. 

We schedule monthly assessment support sessions, at our Subiaco training rooms, where you can work on your assessments with a trainer available to answer your questions and direct you through the course resources.

The course consists of five Units of Competency.

Each section includes training resources that cover the course content and allows you to apply your learning by completing activities that will assist you with the assessment.

You will also receive access to eLearning modules, activities and model answers, sample documents, and links to useful information and legislation.

Along the way, there are assessments for you to complete to demonstrate your knowledge and understanding. Your assessments must be uploaded via the eLearning portal and must include the completion of contracts and forms.

You will be allocated an assessor who will mark your assessments and provide feedback for resubmission where required.

Upon successful completion, you will be issued with a Statement of Attainment for the Units of Competency achieved, within 30 calendar days.

Once you have completed this bridging course, and have completed CPP51119 Diploma of Property (Agency Management), you would be able to apply for your licence with DMIRS.
