Course overview

One of the most effective methods of progressing your real estate career is to complete the CPP50307 Diploma of Property Services (Agency Management). This program has been endorsed by the Department of Mines, Industry Regulation and Safety (DMIRS) as the educational requirement for the granting of a real estate agent licence (Refer to DMIRS website commerce.wa.gov.au for full licensing requirements).

Before starting the Diploma course you will have an extensive informal conversation with one our experienced staff to outline the course content, structure and fees and refunds policy. You can either attend an interview (recommended for local students) or have a telephone conversation if you live in a regional area.

The program for the Diploma course covers leadership and management, interpersonal and communication, real estate practice, trust accounting, and business planning and operations. It is an ideal way to get the skills and knowledge you need to start up your own business or manage an agency department. Or, if you simply want to increase your knowledge, standards and skills then this will set you above others so you can market yourself as better educated and REIWA trained.

If you are already a registered real estate professional and you want to start your own agency or operate an agency or agency department, then this is the course for you. Note that you will need to have at least two year's consecutive and current experience when you apply to the Department of Mines, Industry Regulation and Safety for your licence.

If you simply want to increase your knowledge, standards and skills then this will set you above others so you can market yourself as better educated and REIWA trained.

In order to complete the course, you will need a computer and Internet service to get access to the course resources and assessments which are available on the REIWA student e-learning portal.

To receive the award of CPP50307 Diploma of Property Services (Agency Management), you will complete 26 units of study.  These can be achieved through recognition of your existing skills (RPL), classroom tutorials or distance learning.  You may even hold some of the units already if you have recently completed your registration training.  Some of the units are also available via e-learning so you can study from the comfort of your own home.

Our Diploma course is extremely flexible and because of that it is important that we work with you to set up an individual program of study.

Click on the Register your interest button and start a conversation with our Diploma co-ordinator to find out more.

To register for this course you must:
  • be over the age of 18
  • be computer literate
  • have a high standard of numeracy to work with financial plans, budgets and costing
  • have a high standard of verbal and written English (you will have to understand and complete legal contracts and other documentation).

You will have up to two years from the date of enrolment to complete all of the training and assessment activities. This does not necessarily mean that it will take you a full two years to complete. The duration of your training will depend on your past experience, existing knowledge and current qualifications. You may be eligible for credit transfer or recognition of prior learning (RPL) which would reduce the volume of learning and your time commitment.

You can enrol in the program any time throughout the year.

You can choose how to study each unit. You might want to study certain units on your own using our training manuals or attend a tutorial on that unit, where a trainer will help you through the study program and assist you to plan for assessment. You can use a mixture of self-study and tutorials to suit your own availability and learning needs.

The study/assessment options include:
  • Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL)
  • Assessment only
  • Classroom tutorials
  • Distance learning:
    • E-learning
    • Print training manuals

Enrolment information

Schedule of fees and charges

It may be that you already hold some of the units contained in the Diploma course, and/or have evidence of competence for that unit. During your meeting with our course co-ordinator you will discuss your prior learning and qualifications so that you do not have to undertake training that is not required. You should read the information provided about recognition of prior learning or qualifications prior to your enrolment interview.

Contact us to find out more, 9380 8285.

Credit transfer comes into effect when a Statement of Attainment or Qualification that you already hold has the same national codes as those that form part or all of the training and assessment program in which you are planning to enrol. By applying for credit transfer, you do not need to undertake training in those units again. For example, if you hold the unit CPPDSM4080A Work in the real estate industry, you would not have to undertake training or be assessed against this unit again.

From 1 January 2015 all students completing accredited training must have a Unique Student Identifier (USI).

Assessment

Assessment of your competency consists of a series of activities through which you can demonstrate that you have understood and are able to apply your knowledge and skills to real estate transactions. You will answer questions, deal with real life case studies, and demonstrate your ability to complete legal documentation that relates to real estate transactions.

Whether you are training in a classroom or by distance learning, you will have up to two years to complete your studies and submit your assessment activities.

If after submitting your assessment you have not shown enough understanding or skill in particular areas, you will be provided with feedback to support your developing knowledge to a higher level and then asked to resubmit that part of the assessment.

How does assessment work?

When you have successfully completed all the units of study, you will be awarded the qualification CPP50307 Diploma of Property Services (Agency Management), together with a Record of Results which has details of all the unit titles and numbers.

If you do not complete all of the units, you will be awarded a Statement of Attainment towards the Diploma qualification, which contains a list of the units that are awarded.
